The short version
GuyTheGathering is a free, fan-made Commander deck builder. Build what you like, share what you like, be decent to other players, and keep your own copy of anything you can't bear to lose. If you post something that breaks the rules below, we can hide it or close the account.
Your account
- You need to be at least 13 to create an account.
- One person per account. Use an email address that's yours, and keep your password to yourself: you're responsible for what's done with your account.
- You can use the deck builder without an account. Saving, sharing, likes, follows and card lists need one, with a confirmed email address.
What you share
Your decks are yours. Decks you save are public unless you switch them to Private (copies of other players' decks start private). Anyone can see a public deck along with your username, and it's counted, anonymously, in the site's popularity stats (unless you switch In stats off). By keeping a deck public, you let us show it on the site for as long as it stays public.
Don't use your username, deck names or anything else you post to:
- insult, harass or threaten anyone, or attack people for who they are;
- post sexual, violent or otherwise offensive content;
- pretend to be someone else, including Wizards of the Coast or the people who run this site;
- advertise, spam, or link to scams;
- share someone else's personal information;
- break the law, or anyone else's rights.
If you see something that breaks these rules, use the Report button on the deck.
What we can do
To keep the site fit for everyone, we can, at our discretion and without warning: hide a deck so it's no longer public, change a username that breaks the rules, and suspend or delete an account. We'll try to be fair about it, but it's our call.
Please don't try to break the site: no automated scraping or flooding it with requests, no trying to get into other players' accounts, and no getting around a suspension with a new account.
Card data, prices and Magic
Card details, images and prices come from Scryfall. Prices are estimates in US dollars, can be up to a day old, and aren't an offer to buy or sell anything. Guy's suggestions, synergy scores, popularity stats and bracket checks are a helping hand, not official rulings: check the official rules and your playgroup.

The site, as it is
GuyTheGathering is free and run on a best-effort basis. It's provided as it is, without guarantees: features can change, the site can be down now and then, and it could close one day. We keep continuous backups, but please use Export list to keep your own copy of decks that matter to you. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for lost data or for anything that happens because you relied on the site.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time in Account settings. That removes it along with your decks, lists, likes and follows (see the Privacy page for how long backups keep a copy).
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
